Fluxoff!!!
Fluxoff!!!
So I get a quote to put the SE5LET on the road in Feb, £850!! up from £500!! so I naturally challenge it and find that Endsliegh will insure the modded car for £550. Flux back down and give me the policy for £600 fully comp with guaranteed NCB.
So I am thinking that is a p*ss take. But it gets worse. After coming to the conclusion that Flux are hiking up the premiums (and not the under writer) I sold my SE5LET and bought my 2nd LE from good friend (GreyDJ) oh the plot thickens....Flux quote on a standard LE £900!!! WTF!!
I have no convictions, 9 years NCB and 15 years license!
So I simply went to Go:compare and guess what.....Octagon £478 all in fully comp on the LE.
Even if I mention my club membership the nerds at Flux did nothing.
So it appears they are no longer competitive.
Anyone else found this at all?
Regards,
Sean P

Think you will find new business is always cheapest. They all tend to make the renewals more

I have been with them for 7 years, they wouldn't even acknowledge that fact. But for all who seek a nice quote, Octagon came up trumps for me.
I hope this is useful for all.

Re: Fluxoff!!!
I reinsured my LE with Flux on Saturday, all mods declared and insured for £499, I think the policy went about about £30 and thats with another 100bhp declared. Not bad if you ask me
More power than God
Re: Fluxoff!!!
had big run in with flux when i had the skyline insured with them same as yourself hiking prices be very wary of them and read the small print as they add charges after cancellation period is over
to top it all of the skyline was a higher insurance group than my evo 4 and guess what price went up drastically when i went to change cars safe to say policy was canceled and i will never use them again and also recommend everybody else steer well clear of them

Re: Fluxoff!!!
I have always found flux to be good. They normally match or get very close to any quotes i get from other companies

Yep I have. I've got 8 years NCD, 18 years license, and they wanted £1,500 to insure the Cally Cabrio fully comp, with club discount, and that was the best they could do. I ended up going to a classic insurer, and got fully comp for £290 with photos and all mods declared. That was 3000 miles a year mileage mind.
Admittedly that was a conversion, and an import, but Flux also came up as one of the most expensive quotes on the standard SE9, so unfortunately, I havn't found them cheap or competitive at all.
Maybe they are more competitive on younger drivers?

Try http://www.greenlightinsurance.co.uk
When I called to renew mine this year the guy was talking about Billing etc, they are proper car nuts.
Greenlight Insurance is a specialist vehicle Insurance provider, we were established in 1996 with a view to offering superior cover, service and technical knowledge to the performance, modified and cherished vehicle owner.
Unlike most other Insurers, our staff are comprised of vehicle enthusiasts, who are also Insurance professionals and we rate upon factors that most Underwriters do not even consider.
In our experience, owners of vehicles that people aspire to own do demonstrate a care in their vehicle beyond that of the normal run around or A-to-B vehicle and our premiums are gauged to reflect this.

i got mine down to 620 this year with £80 shaved off the policy as everything has gone up unfortunately and a lot of the big insurances are hitting everyone this year even a 62 year old american work petrol head.
theres a 20 % hike on insurances this year and a tax premium

Re: Fluxoff!!!
so are they saying that because us guys with the v6's 2.5's will be slightly dearer to insure than that of a turbo as i did a comparison with compare the market .com and with a few mods declared ,full protected 13 years NCDS ,named driver with tina on the policy and full breakdown cover that all the quotes i was getting were near enough the same .
But at first my renewal came through saying they wanted 700 odd for the se9 with me at 34 years old ,thats with doing monthly installments .
maybe i should of got a quote with greenlight and seen if there had been any difference .

Re: Fluxoff!!!
rob is that because of that yours is based under a standard car with no mods and you being slightly older than myself but also whos that with.
as rule of thumb they say if you pay full whack out on yur insurance it will be cheaper than a installment plan but then not all of us are on better money than others.
