rot spreading at arches, whats best rust sealer ?

by crinklebender » Mon Aug 15, 2011 10:12 pm

Not used cally in a year, took it mot..fail on rust underbody. sorted that, rebuilt the front cross member, underseal etc ... but the wheel arch job has failed after just 5 months, rust back.

Anybody had to deal with this ?

I ground down to bare metal. applied hammerite Kurust which is supposed to be good. Sealed with epoxy, then top layer of P40, paint spray from can.

Was light on the laquer as didnt want a panel mismatch. think thats the problem. i.e. the laquer is what keeps out the water...or is there a better rest holder than Kurust ?

the only way to get rid of rust 100% is to cut out and weld in new metal
