Thinking of selling my LE....

by LE16 » Sat Sep 24, 2011 5:57 pm

I need an estate as I am getting a dog and will be going to shows etc so need something practical. Doberman don't like Calibra's either..

I have a few bits to do before the sale but this is a good example and has service history with receipts. I want a member of .net or .com to have and Cherish it because there is no way I am letting it get broken up.

I'll be looking to have it sold in around 1 month. It will have 12 months MOT. Not going to re-tax it as not worth it but it will expire in November.

Engine is solid. No modifications except EDS phase 1 (didn't want to go overboard). Also has oil feed restrictor to protect the turbo.

The body is good but I will have it 3stage polished and a minor dink in the c pillar repaired. I am going to replace the steering rack and master cylinder for the MOT. All panels are the same colour and the lines are straight. Hardly any stone chips at all!

The aircon condenser radiator has a leak and will need replacing. I can have this done but AutoVaux can get one for £113 so may leave it and factor that into the price.

I am not going to announce the price as I don't want silly comments on it's value but I can tell you one has gone on Pistonheads for a substantial amount and it had no service history.

The prop is currently being reconditioned by Recon-Prop and will be fitted before the sale. There is a possibility of it needing an accumulator but again I don't want to connect the hydraulics. The TX box ram seal has been replaced. Bumper trim and rear tail. This was because I had a spare from my SE5 and the LE tail had an awful paint repair due to rust.

Body work is immaculate and so is the interior. Some wear on drivers bolster but not serious. The heated seats work. All dials/switches work. It has a Thatcham cat2 immobiliser and x2 keys.

Currently on 139k off the top of my head. It is genuine and I am pretty sure the car has a HPI certificate in the mass of paperwork. I have had the cool stat removed. As this is not a good mod and was done by the previous owner (but one).

I bought it off a reputable club member - 38. GreyDJ, Reg: P979MRF (sticker on plaque says 16)

I will send pictures to anyone who is interested. This will be my last ever Calibra (MK1) and unless there is a new one sadly I will be leaving the club.

IM me if you are interested.

Sean.

Mk1 (providing a new one comes out in 2013), otherwise it will just be a "Calibra"

Not yet.

It's a "Thinking of selling my LE" ad. It's a put the feelers out and try my hardest to make sure it goes to a club member that will cherrish and love the car for the rest of eternity.
