Whats best?
The cars coming off the road for the winter(I know it's still very warm) as the tax runs out on Friday. I'm going to put her up on stands this year with the wheels off, so is it best to tie the suspension up or just let it hang?
Mark...........It's Red........It's a V6............It's an SE9!..............and She's bad.

Re: Whats best?
I would have the sususpension compressed to normal height, as if the wheel was still on. Would also have plastic bags tide round the discs

Re: Whats best?
use axle stands on the arms and as Fraz says take the discs off or cover them, when the drain goes off the road it will be on a 2 poster for a few months

Re: Whats best?
Handbrake off as well
Battery on smart charger indoors
Start it up once a month too if possible and run up to temperature
You can also get a tray and pour some baking soda on it, leave it in the car to soak up odours and moisture

There's a little more to it than just the piston rings. The heat from running it up to temperature will get rid of any moisture in the engine, it will circulate the coolant (a good anti-freeze will stop corrosion) and much much more. Even little things like lifters and perhaps stem seals are better kept oiled.
From experience brake discs will rust even in a dry garage. Even my brand new EBC zinc-coated ones did

Re: Whats best?
its only been stored for 6 months...I dont think we need to go to the extent of removing plugs etc ...and its a V6 so even worse to get them off, and then to put them back in to run it every week
and the baking soda trick is great but you need to change it every week or so (caravan storage trick that one)
