I just don't get it. Your Sig goes on about some place doing repairs etc, so I presume this is some place you work at or know well. So a tyre is about £40.to £50 brake hose about £10 welding about £40 retest £50 (if you have to pay it again) and even your road tax is £120 so for £270 and a half year of driving your going to break it

Seems you have just wanted an excuse to break it and move on to other things. So good luck with that, hope its something really special

i get what ur saying yes i can get it fixed up, but then there's the other stuff that I've been wanting to get done for the last year and not had the time or money, also ss i said i was hoping to get it through the mot then sell it around aug time i just don't see the point in spending 250 plus getting going again to sell it a few moths later for 600/700 as thatd all its worth with 136k on it, i will make more on breaking it, plus I'm getting married in july so all spare cash is going on that at the moment...

i am hoping get save up and get a skyline or supra as its something I've always wanted and now I'm about to hit 30 its more possible now with insurance etc...

i know you guys don't like to see another calibra get broken but it seems like the best option at the moment...

Fix it up.... If you cant afford to keep a Calibra on the road, theres no chance in hell you will be able to keep a Skyline or Supra on the road and this is speaking from experience, ive had both and when needing parts or fixed, lets just say the parts catalogues seem to start at £500 alot of the times and thats not including labour.Your cringing at paying 50-60 quid on a tyre, start at £200 approx for either of the cars. Then look at it this way these cars are just as old as the Calibra and have probably been ragged to within an inch of their life by now unless you buy from an enthusiast and then your talking big money not just on the initial purchase but to replace the toys and upgrades already added to the car.

surely spending 250 to fix it and sell for 600-700 is worth it

lets face it there isnt much on a calibra ecotec that will sell if its broken

in not having a go at you but if your able to fix i assume "VXT" is yourself

part worn tyre = 20 quid fitted
brake hose = £5-10
welding = case of beer to a mate if you cant weld yourself or 50 quid tops
adjust hand brake = free its just time

re-test is free if within 21 working days

by my maths that 80 quid to fix or 30 quid if you can weld

even if its a rough/rusty calibra 80 quid for a years ticket is good for any car esp the age all calibras are

you guys really do suck ***!!! now im considering SORNing it and fixing it to sell as a whole...

i still think i could get more for the parts? Im not going to get that much for it even with 12months mot...

Parts at a glance... (rough prices or worth)
Wheels - still in pristine condition, no kurbing or chips (£300)
leather interior (£100)
angel eye headlights (£50)
powerflow custom exhaust (£100)
apex suspension kit (£50)
front strutbrace (£20)
drilled and grooved discs front and rear (£25/pair)
bumpers/skirts/spoiler/boot/bonnet (£50-100)
fully working sunroof (£40)
Total - £700+

thats not including everything else and the engine/gearbox
surely that lot alone would be worth more then selling car as a whole?

Or i can fix it sell it for £600/700 - £MOT work and make £450/550??

I mean how much is a 1996 Ecotec with 136K miles worth?

Oh and its not the front that needs welding it was the rear, got that bit wrong...

Mike i dont want to p**s on your prices but i dont think youll get that for them, the other thing to think about is youll get the money in drips and you could be left with loads of parts that havent sold and a car that you cant sell as youv started to break it, iv broke loads of cars over the years and I cant say i can remeber having cash left over as it s a £10 here £10 there you stick it in your pocket and next thing its gone, good luck with what ever you do but doont go down the supra road

The calibra is far better looking than the Supra
no matter what engine is under the bonnet, ive
had mine a long time and the x20xev is a really
reliable engine!
