Just had a thought about these fuel tank flanges...what about Saab ones??....given the fact saab and vauxhall had quite a few shared parts.

What is the function of this part, and why are so many needing to be replaced???

I scored one at the Breakers today, cos I recall seeing it on here...

Ovbiously has something to do with the Fuel System, but what specifically???

THANKS!!!

tha flange sits on top of the tank and has the inlet for fuel returning to the tank, as well as the outlet.

With its postion and the large plastic securing ring making it sit lower than the edge of the securing ring, mostiure just sits there rotting the metal of the pipes and the flange itself ...thus you get fuel leaks

The pipes on the one I took today, looked like Brand New!!!

I'd say the climate there must cause corrosion, alot more than we get here!!!

Anyway, thanks for the info!!!
