it is great regret to me moving onto a different car:(

For all general things Calibra related

it is great regret to me moving onto a different car:(

by BazV6er » Mon May 14, 2012 2:23 pm

Guys ,

It is great reget that i am hanging up my boots and shying away from the calibras
after 9 years of owning the calibras , i have enjoyed the time with both the redtop & the v6 , both cars were great and had a few teething probs but I have found other choices of car and will be looking at selling my v6 soon.

IM not sure what my car would fetch as it has a few teething problems leading upto its MOT in sept 2012:

As im still going to have it another 3/4 mths at the moment as i cant get rid of the v6 until i have the new car and i need transport to get me to work and back but whatever i can get for it either on here, . or otherplaces then we can see

*i have to replace two new tyres this mth

*next month i have to 6 mths car tax

*new suspension will need to be replaced but the next person who buys it will need tp replace that as the rear dampers will need to be replaced etc

*i have a slight tap still , will try something next month with hydraulic tappet cleaner

* still cant get into the boot (mechanism needs sorting)

*new spark plugs fitted

*new oil change done last month

*still has a slight water leak which seeps out of the oil cooler lid (think it was where we couldnt seal the corner of the oil cooler lid

* gearbox oil seems to appear on the top of the gearbox

Aprt from that the car went on the rolling road 2 years ago with half peeps on here

Its been put on car show display stands (both.net & .com)

Been in a calendar as well

Worst thing was the oil cooler but thanks to friends on.net they helped fix it for rolling road & then we had to redo the oil cooler again as it got oil coming back so my late brother in law did that with me and we painted the rocker cover /manifold a week before he took his life so the car has been special and great to me but I want to move onto Japanese.

so im looking for a nice honda 1.8 vtec within 2k.
Its been great getting to know most on here on .net and I will keep in contact with the peeps on facebook and see them at other car shows .

thanks for everything guys , i will see you guys soon with hopefully my car to see if anyones interested .

Hopefully it will go to someone that will bring her back to her former glory Baz.

No need to leave the site though mate.
Good luck with finding a good one, I know people say 'jap crap' etc, but a Honda engine can't be beaten tbh, they really are good.
Just do Mark1 and I a favour?

If and When you get a Jap car, dont show us pictures of the wheels if they are Brown (Like Splinters)

Oh, and leave the suspension alone

2.2 vtec prelude, superb drivers car especially if you get one with 4 wheel steering.

never liked that version preferred the earlier model. only thing about the prelude is if you think there's not alot of room in the back of a calibra, you should try sitting in the back of a prelude :snooty:
