yeah i might just do that, mot man was well impressed with underneath and mentioned they suffer with rotten fuel lines.

You could drill a hole through the connector thats left on the flange, feed 2 lenths of insulated wire through then use crimps, heat shrink and something to seal the hole and do away with the connector.

yeah ive been looking for some sort of leak tight bulk head connector but no luck as yet.
