DRIP RAIL MOULDS REMOVAL
I recently removed the 'Drip Rail Moulds' and thought I'd share some knowledge...
Probably a good idea to remove them at some stage, and clean up all the dirt that's built up over the years...
I'd also suggest doing this on a warm day to soften the plastic, and have a few spare clips on hand, in case any do break!!
I opened up the sliding sections, and sprayed some WD-40 and used a long skinny flat screw driver, to assist with removal...
There are 4 clips that secure the rails in place, one on either end, and two in the centre...

Re: DRIP RAIL MOULDS REMOVAL
very good pity you never actually showed the method of removal step by step...we could have had a how to then
Re: DRIP RAIL MOULDS REMOVAL
of course we want warts and all ...thats why you get new clips first
Though I think we just slid them off last time we did it

Yeah I remember Damian trying to slide Seans off, didn't go quite to plan
BETTER TO HAVE A CALIBRA AND NOT NEED ONE, THAN NEED A CALIBRA AND NOT HAVE ONE!!!

1 - Firstly, score Yourself some Spare Clips, the next time you're at the Breakers...
2 - Ok... I slid open both sliding sections, in order to get some better vision of what's going on in there!
3 - Then I sprayed some WD-40 inside the slots, and slid the rail to the front, as much as possible...
4 - As I was cautious about breaking the clip, I used a long skinny screw driver to ease the tension on the clip...
5 - That then allowed me to quite easily lever off the rail at the front, the two centre clips, then the rear clip...
NOTES:
Remember to get a few spare clips from the Breakers or Vauxhall, and then you'll have no worries if any did break whilst removing...
I found that although they are quite easy to remove, one or two but might break depending on how they've dealth with the weather over the years...
Expect to find alot of small leaves, twigs and dirt underneath the rails...

Mine just pulled off and the clips didn't snap, but I didn't have a a tree under them just a few dead flys a couple of wasps and a bee, not sure how it got under there as it was a fair size.

Mate...
Who ever owned this Calibra, must have parked under trees alot...
I was pretty shocked to see how much crap was under there too...
It was no surprise to me, that this car ended up at the Wreckers!!!

Re: DRIP RAIL MOULDS REMOVAL
It's just part of the typical neglect these cars tend to suffer. Along with things like the elephants trunk never being unblocked.
