got this in from the VBOA and they have asked that it be posted for all to read

To All VBOA Clubs

Vauxhall have created a book called Vauxhall and I which celebrates 110 years of Vauxhall through the memories and stories of the people who loved them. The book has been so well received internally that they have decided to create a "micro site" off the back of it where anyone is able to upload and share their story as well as read others.

Vauxhall need some stories to populate the site before it goes live and thought the owner's clubs would be the best place to start. Please find attached a letter from Vauxhall which explains the project and the e-address for stories. An example story (from the book) is also attached to show the type and length required. Please let all your member's know and get the stories coming!

and the bit from Vauxhall

We’ve been making Vauxhalls here in Britain for over 110 years now.

It makes us proud to be part of British life.

And it’s lives like yours we’d really love to hear about.

Why?

We’re creating a website called “Drive Down Memory Lane” and we’d like your Vauxhall story to be part of it.

Simply write your story and send it to us at: vauxhall&I@vauxhall.co.uk

It can be an early memory in a Wyvern, a day trip in a Velox, may be your family had a Light six, a holiday in a Viva, or you passed your test in a Chevette. You tell us.

Feel free to add any photos of you and your Vauxhall that bring the story to life. Even better any film footage.

We’ll put as many stories as we can on our website and enter you in our prize draw.

Plus, we’ve an extra special prize for the oldest story. So cast your mind back. Can you recall a story about a Vauxhall in your life from, say, the 1920s – or even earlier? How close can you get to 1903?

All your stories will build into the biggest ever tale of Vauxhall cars and the part they’ve played in Britons’ lives. And this is your chance to be part of it.

We look forward to reading your recollection.
