The End

by v6 steve » Sun Jun 02, 2013 9:27 pm

Well thats the end of my show season The LE's big ends have gone looks like last weeks oil pump failure did for them, so its needing a full engine rebuild the plan was to do the big turbo/engine build over the winter so not much point doing a engine build on an engine thats getting pulled out just for the shows, so there will be no Davies calibras this year, it will be the big oil burner for Billing this year :(

drop the sump and remove the rod caps check the shells and check the crank if the crank hasnt been scored get yourself a new set of shells and give it a bash

invest in a plastigauge to check tolerances before ordering new shells as you made need to get slightly oversize ones

As above, hopefully its just the shells and will be fine for PVS, worth giving it a go even your going to be stripping it down anyway

if only it was that easy !!

if the shells are gone theres nothing to say that the pistons or the rings or even the turbo didnt sustain damage too im not going to throw good money at it when there always was a bigger plan for the LE
