PVS Run Times

by bodgetastic » Wed Jun 12, 2013 8:37 pm

As most of you know I did a few runs over the weekend.

Having not driven the car since the mapping session, and this year infact other than a short trip to get an MOT, this weekend was purely about testing and experimenting with the car. Saturday I was having issues with the throttle plate sticking shut so that will be going back as it has recently been machined larger. Sunday I managed to split the vacuum pipes on a couple of runs which Im suprised about but I will need to get something a little stronger to cope with the boost.

Obviously the aim was to beat Mr Pinks time of 12.8580 which should have been more than achievable with my power but it wasnt looking good with my better runs being in the low 13's.

That was until my last run of the day when I thought I would get in a couple of final runs while the strip quietened down. I managed a pass at 12.8088 @ 114mph. Not the mid 12's I was hoping for but a new record by the narrowest of margins and hopefully more to come.

I'll get up a few vids using the GoPro and that when I get the chance but I dont suppose anyone was still around at that time with some decent footage?

Heres my times.......

Jeez! That must feel quick, only ever ran quarters at Crail, in my lightly tuned turbo, managed low 14s, that felt quite respectable

About time matey! haha... that said it took me long enough to beat brians original time in the first place..

I can't remember if i told you my speed was 110, so at a potential 6mph over, it shows you have definately got more power but that its not translating into speed for some reason. never stripped anything out mine either, had the sub in etc lol. did make sure my tyres were pumped up nicely seeing as grip wasnt an issue really. and im not sure if your bumper fins are going to ad any significant drag.. beyond that im clueless seeing as you've got a good launch etc on the times there.. perhaps the higher torque my car had made the cars more equal than we consider them based on hp.. be nice to see the comparative RR graphs once you've popped down and got it on my Gtech.

Glad you've finally got to drive it properly though without it breaking haha.. they're so much fun at that power level arnt they :D

yea its definitely got a bit more to give just have to get used to driving it now and will give it another few blasts.

Here's a vid using my GoPro against Glenns car which if I recall correctly is running phase 3.5. Its interesting to see the different power delivery between the two cars and its definitely bottom end where I could do with a little more power.
