cal16v's WIP
cal16v's WIP
I currently have my 16V at the painters waiting for the new booths to be fitted and have decided on Rio Verde as the new colour.
I'll definitely post some pics as things progress.

Finally!
It's nice to have a painter who's as excited about the finish of your car as you are.

Ha!... luv your enthusiasm sealy. I've had so many false starts just trying to get it painted I've learned to curb my enthusiasm.
But I do have a bit of a plan. Once it's painted the rear comes out for an underbody paint. Powdercoat the suspension, new bushes, springs shocks etc. i'll just work my way forward with the underneath. The interior is standard cloth but will stay as is for now. The last thing on the plan is to take the engine out for a rebuild. Will paint the engine bay then and fit new shocks, springs etc at that time.
But TBH I'm trying hard not to think too far ahead...
cheers

Re: cal16v's WIP
Hi everyone & Happy New Year
It's been a while since I posted any updates on the progress of my cali. After many months my car is back from the paint shop and I'm moving ahead slowly piecing it back together and refreshing as I go along. For something totally different I thought I'd have a go at the door cards since they came back to me totally shot, dusty and peeling
Anyway here is the result of my first effort...
I'm very happy with how it turned out but I'd like to see how the contact I used holds up in the heat here. All being well I look forward not! to completing the remainder. Have also been toying with the idea of using something like this on the top sections of the cards for something different...
cheers

Re: cal16v's WIP
Slight change of plan... have decided to keep things simple and just use the same material for all of the door cards for the moment. Have nearly finished the lot, just 1 door panel and an upper rear panel to left to do.

First panel done & assembled
Re: cal16v's WIP
Thought I'd start on the sunroof mechanism. I needed the break from upholstering.
