Eddey's V6 - The Stocky...
Re: Eddey's V6 - The Stocky...
ACTIVITY UPDATE: 16 OCT 14 @ 81,123Km
I initially drained the front 3 Spark Plug wells of oil, when I first bought the car...
It didn't take long to fill again, as I noticed more drops of oil, in the obvious locations...
Being that it's not a very difficult nor time consuming job, I decided to replace the Front Rocker Cover...
Hope to get the time soon, to do the rest of the Engine stuff...

ACTIVITY UPDATE: 29 OCT 14 @ 81,630Km
Well the A/C Gas didn't last very long, so took it in to do some checking...
An Undercar Inspection was conducted, and it revealed that the A/C Compressor needs replacing...
Seeing as the car was up on the hoist, I decided to do an Oil Change as well...
I also used this as an opportunity to take some photos, for My Records...

ACTIVITY UPDATE: 13 NOV 14 @ 82,111Km
I had the oil changed recently, and prior to that, there was only a small amount of oil leaking...
Anyway, after the oil change, the amount of leaking had become rather large...
I thought this might have been due, to me using Semi Synthetic Penrite 10W/40 oil...
So I drained that oil out, and used 25W/60 oil, but it still leaked out oil from the sump plug...
I drained the oil out again, and replaced the old alloy oil sump gasket, with a new copper one...
No such luck...
I bought a new sump plug, specially designed to stop the leaking from the plug...
No such luck again...
So I fitted 2 x Fibre Washers and 1 x Rubber O Ring, to the original sump plug, instead of the metal washer...
So far, not a drop has leaked from the sump plug...
I shall keep an eye on this over the next few weeks...

As we all do, or should do at some stage, I fitted LED's in the Rear Number Plate Lamps...
I didn't fit the NEW Lamp Covers just yet, but I will for sure...
Photo 1: Standard Bulb with Cool White LED
Photo 2: Warm White LED with Cool White LED
Photo 3: Both Cool White LED's fitted
Looking much fresher, and will look even better when the NEW Lamp Covers go on!!!

Re: Eddey's V6 - The Stocky...
ACTIVITY UPDATE: 16 JAN 15 @ 83,115Km
I drove 'The Stocky' to Canberra (265Km) which took me 2.5 Hours one way...
I swapped the Blue Air Filter from 'The Ghost' then I did the usual fluid and tyre checks, and off I went...
It was a smooth drive, all the way there, and back home the following morning...
When I got home, I did some more checks, and then I fitted some Bonnet Struts on the Stocky...
Then I drove to the Central Coast about 85Km which took about 1.25 Hours one way...
As with the drive to Canberra, the drive was nice and smooth all the way...
I stopped off at the Mall, and when I went to open the Bonnet, the lever failed...
Anyway, when I got home I had a mate push down on the bonnet, while I pulled the lever, and it opened...
I gave the cable a 5mm adjustment to the right, and it's now working again, like it should...

ACTIVITY UPDATE: 21 JAN 15 @ 83,860Km
I recently acquired a set of 16 inch 5 Spoke Factory Alloys, as a slight Upgrade to the Original 15 inch ones!
I then bought some New Tyres to be fitted, once I've given the rims a good clean up...
Also bought a SIMOTA Performance Air Filter, to fit back into The Ghost...
Progress is slow, but I'll get there, soon enough...

ACTIVITY UPDATE: 29 JAN 15 @ 84,000Km
I recently clocked 84,000 Km
I've delayed the 'Engine Work' in order to assess the car, just a little bit better...
It drives really well and will only improve, after I've done the work I've planned...

ACTIVITY UPDATE: 04 JUN 15 @ 84,675Km
After 6 months with the fibre washes fitted, I finally decided to replace the Plug Oil Sump...
I replaced the Fuel Pump Relay, as I suspected it was playing up... I'll know soon, if I was right...
Also replaced the Indicator Stalk, as it was constantly tripping the high beams, on and off...

ACTIVITY UPDATE: 22 JUN 15 @ 84,905Km
After replacing the Fuel Pump Relay, the car no longer has the 'Idle Fainting' issue...
Anyway, after so many months of procrastination 'The Stocky' finally got some much needed TLC...
I stripped it down to the Oil Cooler, fitted an Upgraded Lower Manifold, cleaned the Middle Manifold
and fitted a set of Serviced Fuel Injectors... Fitted Metal Rocker Covers and New Spark Plugs...
Changed a few Coolant Hoses, and replaced the 'Sludge Stained' Header Tank Coolant Reservoir...
Now all that's left to do, is the Upper Manifold to be stripped, cleaned, assembled and re-fitted...
Will be all complete, in the next day or two...
Can't wait to hear it roar!!!

Check List:
Lower Manifold - Upgraded
Fuel Injectors Serviced - Fitted
Metal Cam Covers - Upgraded
Spark Plugs Denso Twin Electrode - Fitted
Upper Manifold - All Components Fully Serviced
Replaced Old Gaskets and various Coolant Hoses
Header Tank Coolant Reservoir Cleaned Up
I was so relieved, when it started up first go!!!

Next thing to do, is to sort out the wheels...
They'll need a good cleaning first, then to fit the tyres...

Re: Eddey's V6 - The Stocky...
ACTIVITY UPDATE: 27 JUN 15 @ 85,000Km
Today, I clocked up 85,000Km...
I'm really enjoying driving this car, after doing the recent Engine Work...
Over the last few days, I've been observing for oil leaks, and can gladly say 'not a drop' in sight...
Being that I'm still motivated, I sorted out the issue with the bonnet not opening, every time...
The clip that secures bonnet release cable, wasn't holding too well...
I went to the Wreckers and got clips off an Astra, and a Barina...
I fitted the replacement clip, adjusted the cable, and all seems to be working well so far...
I replaced the Side Indicator Gaskets, as they were old and crusty, and causing stains on the wings...
I also fitted a Battery Jacket, to give the Engine Bay back some of the 'Original Factory' look...
Next focus will be on getting the 16" Alloys, cleaned up...
Then fitting them with the Brand New tyres I bought back in January!!!

ACTIVITY UPDATE: 28 JUN 15 @ 85,055Km
Being that I'm still motivated, I set out to clean up the 16" alloys...
I moved the car out of the garage, and parked it on the street...
It's such a lovely day, that I no longer felt like scrubbing brake dust of alloy...
I decided to replace the Pollen Filter instead, then go for a nice drive...
Thanks Mate... I intend to!!!

ACTIVITY UPDATE: 06 JUL 15 @ 85,426Km
I had the Front Brake Pads replaced today...
Ultima Brand Pads were used, as the Bendix Pads I bought, were for the 4 Stud Rotors...
As I initially suspected, the passenger side rotor, isn't too good...
I also noticed that the left side pads, wore much faster than the right side...
I'll be fitting NEW Dimpled and Slotted Rotors on The Ghost...
I may then use the Old Rotors from 'The Ghost' to fit on 'The Stocky' later down the track...
