ClubCalibra.net now has a new look!

by Cliff » Thu May 26, 2016 9:21 am

Hi all

As part of the maintenance work for the site I have added a new style - a style is the "thing" that changes the look and feel of the site.

The new style is called a responsive style - this means that it adapts itself depending on the device you use to visit the site - this should mean that you get a much better user experience when visiting the site from devices including mobile phones, tablets and computers (laptops/desktops).

I have now mass updated the user records to apply this style for all of you - anonymous/new users will also see this new style when visiting the site (if not registered).

If for some reason you don't like the new style and would prefer to switch back, carry out the following steps:

    Login to ClubCalibra.net
Click on the Cog wheel on the top right next to the envelope, the user control panel
    Click on "Board preferences"
Change "My board style" to an alternative style - most users were using subsilver2 previously
    Click on "Submit"

All feedback welcome.

Thanks,
Andrew

Good work on freshening up the site.

One bit of feedback from me. The new site has broken the table I recently created in the SE9 Register thread

http://clubcalibra.net/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=51272

Broken is probably a bit strong, more chopped the edge of the table off, in such a way that you can't read what has been chopped off.

I'm guessing its because the new style has a fixed narrower width, which won't work with tables over a certain width?

Obviously tables can't "wrap" like normal text, but then i'm probably the one person that has created a table on the site lol :)

New site looks great mate, good job & hats off!

I'm not keen on how it looks on the mobile though, very fragmented & hard to read when it automatically adjusts to the device I'm using.

Is there an option somewhere (or one that can be added) so I can just view the full site on my mobile without it trying to adjust itself?

Hiya Dan,

I can look into it - which device are you using? And can you grab a screenshot to show me what you mean about the fragmenting - then I can have a look and see what we can do

Thx

just a wee suggestion, once you enter a thread can we have the view active threads and view new posts buttons at the top of the page back. this makes it easier than having to go back to the board index especially after you have responded to a post

Yep - Vexorg said similar - have accrued a list of things to add and will try to get through them all this week. Will post list up asap then people know what's planned and can add as they see fit.
