Can only suggest to try using the key to shut the window, if you dont know about that, hold it 45degree's to the left from upright, half way to the deadlock position.. it should put the windows up..
other than that, which would only get around a switch problem, your gonna have to take some panels off and get the multimeter out

Toyota Mr-2 roadster turbo
If you cannot get it fixed right away try to cover it up with something like black bag and tape and park it somewhere a safe as possible. Sounds like an electrical problem or a problem with the motor doesn't it.
Anybody good with Vauxhalls will be able to sort that for you quite easily I imagine.

Rivets are all intact...well they were till i drilled them out....yeh it wasn't the loom..speakers worked etc
Had a play around with it and found out that it is the regulator, seems to have died
Thanks for your help tho guys...managed to pull it all apart and move the spindle so that the window is now held up and CLOSED...can't open but it means i can drive it...just wait for the regulator to arrive....

i had this problem last year and it was the regulator unit !!
to remove the regulator you "MUST" WEDGE THE GLASS HALFWAY UP OR YOU WONT HAVE ROOM TO MANOUVER THE REGULATOR OUT OF THE DOOR CAVITY .also double check that "ALL" the white plastic guides are in the runners as you cant pop them into position once you rivet the unit back in place.by the way a regulator from a scrappy only cost £25 !!!
